Moving this monument was a terrible plan! It needs to go back.

The sign is a piece of history. It shouldn’t be relegated to a back corner.

Seeing this sign as we drove on Coal Creek Parkway was always a signal to my children that we were near home. Please, keep this in the public's view!

Why would a private company builder even allowed to move a public sign like that? it doesn't make any sense!!!

Please return the sign back to a location that designates that one is entering our city of Newcastle.

As a Newcastle City Councilman, I support this petition. In fact, I was a lone voice on Council speaking against moving this away from a prominent entry point to the City. It needs to end back up in such a spot. Thanks for launching this. I will speak to it during my Council Comments at the beginning of tomorrow evening (9/18/17) Council meeting.

All this location does is welcome Avalon residents, not all of the Newcastle community.

Beautiful monument of Art & History! And to move it!! As for "The Commons!" Which means, canteen, chuck-wagon, mess hall, general, ordinary, not special, hackneyed, trite, stale, banal, devoid of freshness or originality. IOW— an awful title for the esteem of our city! (Tacky bland signs too.)

This sign is for Newcastle, not for an apartment complex. This needs to be visible to all residents of Newcastle, proudly. I am truly saddened by whoever made the decision to move this, and want it back in a prominent spot.

All the new people will LOVE knowing the history of where they now live!! Trust me; just ask them! Especially if they did not grow up in the US.
