Our Newcastle brick sculpture should remain in public view

As Newcastle continues to morph into a different city than the one we moved to 20 years ago, it's important that we preserve what history we have. Please consider an appropriate place to show and preserve the ONLY public art piece we have.

This is part of the history, why must developers destroy everything in the path?

This is an important part of the early community - pre-Newcastle. It should be located along Coal Creek Parkway (as it was) to serve as a visual "gateway" to Newcastle!

I really liked the brick sculpture right where it was in full public view, to recognize the decades of the Newcastle Brick Yard being on that site.

I hope the decision to move the strikingly artistic Newcastle brick sign will be reconsidered and the sign will be relocated to a prominent location. The brick sign is distinctive, bespeaks civic pride, and symbolizes Newcastle's special history. It is very impressive. A prominent location for this classy work is most fitting!

Please place the sign in a more prominent area at the entrance to the city.

Let me get this straight. Newcastle City Council can't take control of their spending and budgets but find it necessary to fund moving a part of history? Sounds like an unneeded and unwanted expense.

I would hope that whoever is in a position to ensure the monument will be moved to a more prominent place will act on this quickly. How about marking the entry of the city on Golf Club Road? As Newcastle is growing and supporting a Historical Society and Arts Council it seems like a giant step in the wrong direction to not showcase this beautiful hand carved sculpture depicting Newcastle's earliest roots.

I loved driving by this sign and wondered what had happened to it. Please bring it back to a public site!

Lake Boren Park is an ideal location for the brick sign. Please make it accessible to all Newcastle residents.

I grew up in Newcastle and thought the beautiful brick sign was a great tribute to the old brick factory and represented Old Newcastle well. It needs to be out on the main road.

I grew up in Newport Hills and spent a lot of time in Newcastle long before it was a city. The sign showing the city's heritage should remain in a visible location and not be hidden away in apartment complex. Please reconsider its placement, and let it remain in a place of prominence.
