We the residents of the community of Charlottetown Public School petition the City of Toronto to install additional traffic signs along Charlottetown Boulevard. Currently Charlottetown Boulevard experiences increased traffic flow during school drop-off and pick-up times. To add to this traffic flow is the presence of a crosswalk just a few feet from McCulley Street. As well during those times, many vehicles going Northbound turn left onto McCulley Street causing traffic to get backed up all the way to Lawrence Avenue. Because of this increased traffic congestion, children’s safety is at risk. We request that the City of Toronto install additional traffic signs that prohibit turning left and right onto McCulley Street from Northbound and Southbound Charlottetown Boulevard during the following times: • 7:30am – 9:30am • 3:00pm – 5:00pm • Turning will be prohibited Monday to Friday from September to June only.
