The below signees are petitioning against the implementation of the new FSU logo. We wish to keep the old logo

Updates

I really thought this might just float around in the void but seeing everyone jump on board to save the classic look is honestly wild. It feels like the old logo actually has a fighting chance now that so many of you noticed the change.

This logo is affront to the alumni and students of Florida State. Perhaps the lack of consultation and abject collusion with nike makes me more angry than the logo design itself. The logo is absolutely laughable and cartonnish lacking any diginity for this university and its athletes.

Only losers shed thier skin to shake the past in hopes of being a winner. tradition means somthing and it's even more special if it's built on winning. Wininnnng. Don't mess with the mojo. That said, the logo loks like a hair jelled Corey Haim. Wait till our oponents see that wide open mouth. This is all about money. Shame on you FSU

My three first impressions were as follows: 1. The face shows excruciating rage; 2. It shows an awakening yawn; 3. It shows a face as if it's gagging on a swolled pill. My wife, Barbara Patchen Felton, and I are strong and loyal alumni of Florida State University, and we want the former logo from 1971 kept. Please do not chenge to the new logo. Thank you.

I'm a 2008 Ph.D. graduate of FSU, and I don't think this logo is better. If you are going to change it, change it something non-native american.

Our school is based on traditions! We have a Traditions Hall, a Traditions Way; What kind of example would we be setting, for keeping traditions, in changing the literal face of our school?

This new logo is not good, it doesn't have the intimidating feel that the old one have and it honestly looks like Richard Nixon. I will not purchase anything with this logo. I have heard nothing but negative comments about the new logo, we all want to keep the old one. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Don't change tradition

I am a legacy of FSU, my parents both were Marching Chiefs so my sisters and I grew up coming to games and both came to Florida State and Became marching Chiefs. The completely sudden change is unnecessary and disrespectful to the longstanding importance of tradition to this amazing institution. One reason I love Florida State is it is something my family shares, and the logo is the visual representation of the entire school. It is the logo my parents wore when they walked into Doak, and now as I do the same I feel so connected to them, and all they other Alumni of this school. I find it horribly unsettling that the athletic department felt the need to change this without consulting anywhere near the majority of Florida State Seminoles, past or present. And then they have the audacity to call it the future when we pride ourselves on attending a university so rich in tradition? It sickens me that they have no legitiment reason for the change and that they expected everyone to just lay down and love it when they did not give us the time to accept it before it was official, or even ask our opinions. Along with the fact that the petty reasons they gave for the change could easily have been "fixed" by a simple change, not completely throwing away the logo as if it is an old hat that has suddenly gone out of style. As I said, the whole situation sickens me. As a current student of The Florida State University, I feel betrayed and now disconnected from the institution I grew up loving and respecting. Tradition as long-standing as the logo is not something to be changed.
