I see people often comparing this project to Terminator Genysis which for me was a big budget fan fiction film that didn't understand what we liked about Terminator. I think this project is different.
I fully understand the concerns and i'll admit to disliking Blomkamp's films after D9 but thinking about the problems his movies had, you'll see that Elysium had a story problem and Chappie had too many inspirations and didn't know what it wanted to be, now picture Alien 5, they say it has a great script and it takes place in an already well established universe.
Sure it could go wrong but remember that Blomkamp is a big fan of Alien and if he disrespects the property he will probably not forgive himself.
If the movie succeeds, the fans will have the closure to Ripley's story they've been waiting for, and Fox will have complete freedom to take Alien in whatever new direction they like.

Neill Blomkamp is more than worthy to continue the Alien franchise. He's proven that with the movies he has already had success with. Let's make it happen.

Get it done, but do not retcon Alien3. Just gives a real ALIEN film again, which explores the dark eager of WY hunt for the Xenomorph. Thanks.

If there is one Alien/Aliens movie they should be making it's this one. Corp. Hicks is a legend. You can't have him go out the way he did in Alien 3.
