NCSECU Support for Apple Pay
Currently, NCSECU has not provided any information on concrete plans to support Apple Pay.
In response to a member, NCSECU writes, "Thank you for your message. The announcement of the Apple Wallet along with Apple Pay was made public on September 9th and since then we have been working diligently to learn all the details. We are currently reviewing the Apple Pay platform and what will be required by the Credit Union and our members to participate with this service. As it is very new technology, the details are very fluid and changing daily! We have begun the process with Visa to enable our card products to be secured with all types of mobile payments however there are several hundred financial institutions in the queue for this certification process. It will take some time for everyone to come on board.
We know that Apple will charge fees to the card issuing financial institution for participation along with additional fees from Visa. We want to make sure we totally understand the financial ramifications of these fees and how we can protect the membership in a long term contract relationship.
Apple launched Apple Wallet on the 20th but there will be limited locations that will accept Apple Pay as a payment option. Ramp up of locations to use Apple Pay will occur over time. Where it is available, your credit union debit and credit cards will still work at these merchants ? you will not be prevented from accessing your accounts with SECU although you will not be able to pay with Apple Pay.
We are also watching and reviewing mobile payment options for Android users. More details on options for these devices is expected in early 2015. It is our goal to ensure you have access to your accounts and the ability to make payments through whatever channel you choose ? but we must ensure it is done securely! Stay tuned!"
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION SO THAT NCSECU CAN SEE THAT CONTACTLESS (NFC) PAYMENT, SPECIFICALLY APPLE PAY, OPTIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ITS MEMBERS AND WE WOULD LIKE TO UTILIZE THESE SERVICES SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!

I have been reading through your messages about how much this would simplify your daily errands and it really puts the importance of this into perspective. I honestly just started this to see if anyone else felt the same way, but the volume of people joining in is entirely due to your willingness to speak up.

I am honestly stunned to see so many of you joining me in this request. If we can reach that hundred mark soon it might finally show the credit union that this really matters to us. Please help me get this in front of just a few more people so they see we are serious.

I understand why NCSECU is slow to embrace this tech is because they are merely trying to be cautious with their members money. It is my hope that one day in the NOT to distant future that it will be available for it's members.
It is now August 28 & still no visible action by NCSECU to go APPLE PAY! I continue to see the list of other financial institutions that support Apple Pay grow. NCSECU, you've had plenty of time to study & analyze the technology! Let's move on this! Mike
I can't believe we don't have Apple Pay already. So many other Credit Unions do. And we have the Triangle in NC, which is one of the hotbeds of tech in the word! It really bothers me that NCSECU doesn't seem to be taking this seriously.
Failing to add Apple Pay will have a negative impact on NCSECU's number of customers.
I really want Apple Pay, if NCSECU is not going to support Apple Pay, I am taking my banking somewhere else.

They have had to replace my card multiple times because of potential compromises at retailers. Apple pay would lock this down better.
