Please help me be the voice for all these babies born too soon...stillborn who are not offered a death certificate in the state of Texas because they wern't the stipulated weight.
I'm on a mission. One where our son, Nathaniel Ezekiel Allen, will be given a death certificate by the state of Texas. When our baby boy was born on May 29, 2012, he was stillborn, yet he was still born. His cord was wrapped around his arm and his neck which caused his "fetal demise". He was our precious baby boy, and we buried him as per the state of Texas stipulations as to where one can bury their loved one, yet later we found out that the state will not issue a death certificate because he wasn't the right weight to be considered a life. How can the state stipulate where you bury your "dead", when they won't even consider them a "life", nor give them a death certificate?

The state of Texas continues to insult the memory of our children by claiming they do not exist because of a few ounces. I am tired of the bureaucrats hiding behind these cruel definitions while they force us to bury our babies as if they are nothing more than inconvenient trash.

The state of Texas continues to treat our children like garbage instead of human beings but this momentum shows we are finally forcing them to pay attention. Officials in Austin will not be able to ignore our grief or our demands for justice much longer.

This breaks my heart. Every life matters regardless of weight. Texas needs to fix this law right now.
Complete nonsense that the state gets to pick and choose who is a person. Change the rules.
Ridiculous. A life is a life. Period.
Stay strong. Im so sorry you have to deal with this cold bureaucracy while trying to grieve your son. He deserves to be recognized.
My family went through this exact same thing. It is so painful to be told your baby doesnt count. Sending love.
