We request the Fort Hood Deployment Building be named for Elizabeth Laird - the Hug Lady. Elizabeth Laird dedicated her life to hugging the service members on their arrival and their departure from Fort Hood. She is estimated to have hugged 500,000 servicemen/women since 2003. She should be honored by the military and her country for her volunteer work, making soldiers feel someone cares. Please sign the petition to honor Elizabeth Laird.

i believe she had a big impact on a lot of service members by reassuring they weren't alone and reviving a hug made me feel tht way, we should forget what this lady did for us!

As an Army mom it was nice to know that my son would leave and arrive with a hug, even if wasn't mine! This IS the right thing to do!!!
