This should pass. It's a great idea for someone who has done so much. I have not lived in Rockaway or Inwood for many years, but I still have family and friends in the area. It is fitting that the new Ferry Dock be names Deckelman's Landing.

Laura has worked her tail off to get the ferry back. She deserves this honor and I feel so good about signing it.

I grew up in Rockaway and think a ferry is the best idea ever; and I have been amazed and impressed at how tirelessly Laura has worked towards that goal.

Laura and I were friends when we both grew up in Far Rockaway. Our families were friends and our parents used to sit on the porch in the summer gossiping. I remember the evening breezes coming off the ocean that made me glad I didn't live in Manhattan. Now I live in Manhattan and I imagine the cool breezes and I miss them. Laura stayed in Rockaway and committed to making the almost impossible possible and she, more than anyone, should be commended for all her hard work to bring back the Rockaway ferry.
