I am looking to have the FV High School name its Football Stadium to Myrick-Howard Stadium in honor of retired coaches Graham Myrick and Phillip Howard. The winningest coaches in their conference in their time. Both of these men were not only great coaches, but they were also admired in the Fuquay community. They not only coached great football, but they were great teachers as well as great inspirations. They were there to listen and help if you needed them to.
This is only a stepping stone, nothing is set and I do not know if this will even happen. Regardless, I believe that the school board and athletic association would get much praise for doing the right thing.

I went to FVHS from 1984-1988. I never had them as a coach or a teacher but both were admired by myself,other classmates and folks in the Fuquay community. I know Monique Howard Johnson would be honored if the field was named after her dad and Coach Myrick.
Great honor for Coach Myrick he inspired me to coach high school football for 35 years should have been done a long time ago.
Coach Howard is a great guy all around whether it's in the classroom, ball field and off the school grounds.
My son would be honored to play under the lights at a stadium named after two great coaches.
I'm 100% behind this. Grateful to have been coached by both of these men. What a great way to honor them.

In my opinion Coach Myrick put FV football on the map. If I'm not mistaken there was a time when Coach Myrick had more wins than any football coach in Wake County (I think he and Clayton's coach during much of his tenure were the top two). The field should have been named in his honor long ago.
