The city of Carlsbad makes a lot of money on property taxes and other taxes. This is a very wealthy city that continues to build and build, which will bring in even more revenue from taxes. Surely Carlsbad can allocate money and put more funding towards CUSD for something extremely important like our children's music and art education, which statistics show improve their overall education. The teachers at our Carlsbad schools in music and art are vitally important. I hope CUSD would see the benefit in investing in them and returning their roles to salaried teachers with benefits as they should be.
