My children's involvement in music has given them many advantages. It is sad that as a school district we don't provide all children with the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and create music together.

AOE needs a music teacher, this is crazy sad..so much common core and no music does not make for well-rounded students!

My children attend AOE and have mentioned several times throughout the school year how much they miss music at school and wish they had that as one of their "specials". We need to bring music back to AOE permanently!!

Music is THE universal language all around the world. This district has been very remiss in not funding music for all students all these years. If you would attend the music programs at each of the schools, and see for yourselves the quality of the music produced, you would have NO choice but to say YES to all music funding. The music teachers give their all for our children and only reap their love and appreciation.
Please, please, do the right thing and support fully all music programs in all our schools.

The common core curriculum encourages and requires students to think creatively and holistically, skills that don't appear spontaneously. Music education is a key component in developing their abilities in deciphering patterns, recognizing part to whole comparison, teaching fractions and beats, and culturally expanding their senses. Music is a core to human existence and must be treated as much by our education system.
