I almost transferred because there was no good music program here. I love playing the violin and am discouraged from playing for an orchestra that just plays jazz music. I miss Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and other classical musicians

Throughout my undergraduate experience at Villanova, I was able to explore my musical passions through Music activities programs. I was active in musical theater, the Singers, and a cappella. As an engineer music was my release, my chance to escape the constant work and explore something I loved.
Now as a graduate student I can't think of my undergraduate experience without music activities. My only regret was that I was never able to explore my passion for music in an academic setting. The one music class I signed up for ended up getting cancelled. Having a dedicated music program would be a huge opportunity for students like me to learn even more about something that drives them as a passion, something that they turn to for release and for companionship. Villanova should absolutely have a music minor, in fact it should have had one years ago.
