Brookhaven city government has already done enough harm to the environment. Rescind the opening of the loop road, and also forget about the moving of "historic house" and a new building at Murphey Candler.

I urge you to use the bond money for planting, erosion control, trail maintenance, trash collection, preservation of natural areas, instead of grandiose schemes that users of the park don't want.

As someone who previously lived in the Gainsborough neighborhood and currently lives near by, I strongly oppose opening the Loop Road at Murphy Candler park, as well as the changes proposed by the City of Brookhaven. Parking is not an issue. Park visitor safety from traffic and retaining the green space should be the priorities here.

I oppose allowing cars and parking Inside the park near playground amenities. The parking that currently exists adjacent to the road can be expanded to add spaces adjacent to the road. This would add parking but avoid surrounding the playground on all sides with hazards. It would also preserve the loop toad as a pedestrian amenity.

I am opposed to the removal of green space. I also object to the closed process of how this whole thing came about. Where was the public's opinion in any of this. You say you are for creating green space but you are taking away a significant amount of green space currently used by numerous citizens.

We have so little green space! Allowing MORE cars to a place that walkers, runners, deer and wildlife call home would be a horrible change to the area! Please allow the park to remain a green space and not another highway of pollution, concrete and sterile construction. We need to preserve nature and there is absolutely NO need for further construction. There is plenty of parking already!

By opening the loop road, the size of the park is effectively reduced. And the loop road is a pedestrian walkway, no matter what its original intent might have been. The areas accessed by the loop road are not far from existing nearby parking which is rarely, if ever, full.

Please keep cars away from the newly built playground so there is not 360 parking and cars surrounding the playground.
