The administration finally capitulated and approved the new Mental Health Center. We forced them to acknowledge that student lives are worth more than their bottom line. Keep watching them to ensure they actually build the facility they promised.

Mental health problems among college students are rising nationwide. Many MSU students struggling with mental illness discover existing campus resources to be overwhelmed and under-resourced. We can and must do better.

We just hit one hundred signatures while the MSU administration continues to ignore the crisis unfolding right under their noses. This is only the beginning and we will not stop until they stop hiding behind pathetic excuses for underfunded services.

As the parent of two MSU students (1 alumnus and 1 active) and as a teacher, I am happy to support this great initiative to support student learning and well-being. Good mental health is key for both academic and social success.
I am a nursing student at MSU and know for a fact that a mental health center could make a huge difference. So many of my friends who attend MSU struggle to find mental health help that can easily fit their schedule and that they feel is affective.
While I was a student at MSU I was looking for help handling crippling anxiety and panic attacks, the current resources were completely overwhelmed and unable to provide me with any assistance.
I have been waiting for something like this since coming to MSU. It is tragic that it took such a terrible event to jump start this project, but I am so proud to be a part of a school pushing to be the world wide hub for mental health
After being on the waitlist for forever at MSU, this needs to be a priority, there shouldn't be a wait for getting students what they need!
Stop psych drugs that cause violence dementia and suicide. Cover mental supps and therapy.
Desparately need more research to find solutions and remove the stigma of broken brains/mental health

As a former MSU student who lost her best friend to suicide during my sophomore year. I am forever grateful that counseling services were available to me.
