When students who struggle with mental illness are seeking for immediate help and end up on a waiting list for the care they need to survive is unacceptable and unjust. MSU should provide a safe and caring place for all students to grow and learn, and having mental illness hinder their experince goes against all the values MSU stands for, including our code of honor.

I see students every day who are struggling with depression and anxiety---and their work and enjoyment of college life is hugely affected by these conditions. I also know that the current resources are not sufficient to give them the help they need. Mental health should be a TOP priority for an institution whose central goal is to help 18--22 year olds grow into their full potential.

While I was a student at MSU I was looking for help handling crippling anxiety and panic attacks, the current resources were completely overwhelmed and unable to provide me with any assistance.

Like so many students nationwide, I suffer from debilitating psychiatric conditions. Being a full-time student with a part-time job and extracurricular activities makes finding time to find help difficult, and not having a car makes transportation expensive. Having an on-campus center dedicated to mental health will help students like me improve our health and find academic and social success, not to mention ease the strain on the other health centers on-campus.

I have been waiting for something like this since coming to MSU. It is tragic that it took such a terrible event to jump start this project, but I am so proud to be a part of a school pushing to be the world wide hub for mental health

As someone who deeply struggles with depressipna and anxiety, this would have been SO HELPFUL for me during my time at MSU. I graduate in August but I couldn’t be more behind this idea.

After being on the waitlist for forever at MSU, this needs to be a priority, there shouldn't be a wait for getting students what they need!

Mental Health needs to be an important issue on MSU's campus and right now it feels as though its being pushed aside
