We hereby petition both the Salt River Project (SRP) and the Arizona Public Supply (APS) to add Multiple Sclerosis to the list of Medical Conditions authorized for a discount on their electric bill.
It is a known and documented fact that MS Patients suffer from extreme heat sensitivity, and it is a medical necessity that they keep their home temperatures at cooler than normal temperatures to avoid overheating and thereby causing an exacerbation of their MS Symptoms.
Currently, Tucson Electric recognizes MS as a medical condition eligible for such a discount providing that proper medical documentation is submitted.
We therefore, ask APS and SRP to do the same.

I have been reading through the stories you are sharing about the struggle to stay cool during our summers and I am truly moved by your openness. This has become much larger than I ever imagined when I started this journey on my computer at home. Please know that I am working to get our message in front of the right people at the utility companies.

It is horrible during summer in Arizona. We hybernate during summer because the heat takes the use of our legs away. Please help lower our electric bills so we can at least enjoy inside our home/apts.
My sister and aunt both suffer from MS and not being able to turn on the air conditioning in the middle of the Arizona summer for fear of the electric bill; this could help so much for those suffering from this disease.
It is not fun to have to watch life pass by because I need to stay indoors in the cool air! We get secluded which is further detrimental to our mental health! To lower the thermostat would be major help. Many MS patients are on disability and can't afford high rates.

If it were not for the MS that I have I would not have to keep my house cooler during the summer. I have to constantly jump in a shower to make my self feel cooler since I can barely afford my increased electric bills in the summer.
I have relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis and I am usually in the hospital during summer months. The heat causes my Ms to act up.
Hoping you get enough signatures. I am severely effected by heat and cold and would love to see a petition like this for my home state of Michigan for electric in the summer for a/c and gas in the winter for heat.

I have ms. Heat can increase my chances of a flare. Last month my electric bill was 533.00 dollars. They told me to turn my thermostat up to 80 degrees from 75. This is just ridiculous.
