I wrote to the council last year about this - the response was a long-winded document about other venues not having enough car parking, not close enough for those without a car to walk to, not enough drop-kerbs etc. it was endless. How about they use village halls, churches or even parks - and for those that cannot drive, or walk to a polling station - what's wrong with postal votes? Our kids have missed out on enough - not to mention that it's another day where a parent has to take a day off work, or juggle.

Surely Pinewood Centre could be used. Plenty of parking. Why politics should affect our children's education.

Given the disruption our schools have endured this year this seems ridiculous. Also poses a health and safety risk given multiple individuals will be entering the premises.

Surely if another venue cannot be found, then the school could carry on being used, but at the weekend so there would be no disruption to pupils and families and yet the polling station would still be as accessible as needed. Just move the voting day to a Saturday or Sunday.

Absolutely crazy to be closing down a school for this after all of the kids have only just returned to school!

It is unnecessary to disrupt the education of over 200 pupils, when there are many alternative locations in central crowthorne such as the morgan centre, the church halls x2, the library can shut for one day to provide this service too....

The frequency of the disruption to so many childrens' education is unacceptable in my view. A suitable alternative venue (or venues) must be found. There are a number of small halls and churches in the area that would cause far less disruption to so many children and parents if these were used instead.

Enough to sacrifice children school life, must be other venues can use for polling. Please keep the school open!

This stupid practice of closing schools for local elections is crazy. Stop it now Wokingham you should be thinking of the children and not elected members. Move the site to St Sebastian's. OR Close a different School for a change.

Closing the school sacrifices education and unnecessarily erodes parent's vacation.

Haven’t the schools been closed for long enough? By closing the schools for a local polling day is damaging our children further. It beggars believe as to who makes the decisions to close schools!!!

The children have missed enough school as it is. Other empty buildings should be used instead for this service.

The school should not be closed for polling, children have missed so much school due to the pandemic... it should be moved to a local community centre instead!
