She organizes this, part of it atleast, she said May is booked, April 9th was all that was available, and we got the hall for a very cheap price. It can not be moved, the decision is final.

Kane herself said it cant be moved. There was a wedding planed for May 9th, one of the reasons it hand to be moved.

May is completely booked. It was moved for good and valid reasons. The club directors even made it cheap for us, the school will only be paying $250. When the organizers looked for a new date (since on May 9th there is a wedding taking place there) they didnt know about the choir trip (when it was) because it was not on the calendar. They did not mean for prom to fall on the same day as the choir kids are gone. Things happen. It is how it is.

What do you not understand, there are NO open spots in May, it CANT be moved back. Last year there were juniors in the school play who missed prom because the play was on the same day as prom, even they didnt complain this much.

AP exams are in the morning, you can take them then. Taking the ACT take 4-5 hours and we would only have like 2 hours to get ready for prom. It's better to keep it in May, especially for the choir kids so they don't have to change their trip plans or fly back from New Orleans for Prom!

There are many students planning on going on the choir trip to New Orleans on the same date as Prom. This is not fair. People can take AP exams and then go to prom. They cannot go to prom if they're flying to New Orleans.

Kane has been trying very hard to make prom work. The club where prom is being hosted is very busy and we are the only high school allowed to go there. We were able to get a spot on April 9th, for a VERY good price, they were very generous, and it is the only open day. It won't be changed back, this petition will do nothing. The date is set, it can not be moved back to its original day, there is already an event that day at the club. If it was in May then it would be smack in the middle of AP exams. There is an option for the juniors who are on the choir trip, you can talk to Kane about it. Im sure everything will work.
