The community of Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Colorado, wishes to dedicate the TJ Spartan Athletic Field (3950 S. Holly St., Denver) to Dr. (Coach) Herman Motz. Dr. Motz taught at TJ for 25 years and coached Spartan football teams for 19 years. Winning two Colorado State Football Championships in 1980 & 1989, Dr. Motz is the last coach in the Denver Public Schools to win a State Football title. Dr. Motz is revered, respected and loved as a teacher, coach, leader and friend. To honor him and his family, I support dedicating the TJ Spartan Athletic Field in his honor.
