Virginia's Roanoke and New River Valleys are home to over 450,000 residents, and hundreds of miles of some of the finest motorcycling roads and trails in the east, including 90+ miles of one of America's great motorcycle destinations - the Blue Ridge Parkway.
For years, BMW motorcycle riders have relied on BMW Motorcycles of Lynchburg (the nearest dealership) for sales, parts, and factory trained service. With news of this dealership's closing, riders will have to travel far out of the region to visit other dealerships; the 5 closest dealerships average 150 miles from the Valleys. BMW has outperformed nearly all of its competitors for the last two years in terms of sales of new motorcycles in the US, and the numbers of older bikes on the road, aided by BMW's legendary longevity, continues to swell.
We the undersigned wish to voice our hope and desire that the Roanoke and New River Valleys can continue to be served by a BMW Motorcycle dealership, and look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship.

The local riding community is reaching out with stories about how far they already have to travel for service. I am compiling these accounts to show BMW corporate exactly why this region needs a shop.

Bout time we got something closer. The ride is nice but not when you need service done ASAP.
PLEASE make this happen. Been a BMW owner for years and the lack of local support is just killing me.

Ridiculous that we have to drive to Lynchburg or further just for parts. Roanoke is a huge market for riders with the parkway right here!
