The council agreed to our demands and the new retail investment plan is moving forward. We fought for this and we finally won. Keep watching to ensure they deliver.

We the good people of Motherwell are fed up and angry of the severe lack of decent and variety of retail outlets within our town. We feel that the local council and the Town Centre's owners should be held accountable to make sure that from now on they must invest and bring in shops and decent parking facilities to attract the needed custom to invigorate some life back into our local community.

Ideally we would like the council to be informed of this petition as we feel it is in their interest to do so along with Centre owners too.

The momentum is undeniable now. It is clear that we are all tired of the current state of our town centre.

Motherwell town centre has lost it's heart and amateurish planning has in effect split the town centre into three shopping areas all separated, lack of parking and lack of quality high street shops means that no one would travel from out of town to shop in Motherwell.

The quality of the outlets in the town has been in a steady decline for years. There are only a few shops worth visiting in the centre of there were better shops and better parking I would be more inclined to cost the town than go to the out of town outlets as the town is closer and would be more convienient

We certainly need more clothes and even shoe shops in Motherwell town centre but I for one have stopped shopping in Motherwell due to the 3hr parking restriction!!

I used to love shopping in Motherwell. Now we have 7 charity shops in the main precinct. The decent clothes shops are closing because they can't afford the rates! What good are the high end shops like costas if there's no shoppers to stop for coffee?

I was born in Motherwell & for many years there was a variety of good shops which attracted people . Nowadays there seems to be more betting shops , hair dressers & other low end shops . Parking is being taken away . Which means people more likely to go elsewhere affecting business so really how does that make sense ??

I remember Motherwell had a great wee precinct.. I understand that we don't have a lot of industry in our town now but come on.. how many pawn n charity shops do we need. It's appalling. Nobody spends in Motherwell cos there's nowhere decent to shop now.
