We the undersigned strongly condemn the decision by Moscow's Mayor, Yuri Luzhkov, to ban gay parades in the city. In addition we express our disgust at the recent attacks on gay rights activists in the country, including prominent campaigner Peter Tatchell.
Yuri Luzhkov keeps hiding behind his ban while activists are beaten in the streets by thugs. We are tracking every act of intimidation because silence from the mayor is just proof he is complicit in this violence.
May 31, 2007
The massive surge in support proves that people are finally waking up to the bigotry enforced by Mayor Luzhkov. We are building the kind of pressure that forces the authorities to pay attention to these cowardly attacks on basic human dignity.

Totally backward. Everyone deserves the right to walk in the street safely regardless of who they love.

Sad to see such hate in the world still. Sending love to all the activists over there.
