Vladimir V. Putin, Russia's president, has declared war on homosexuality.

Six months before Russia is set to hold the 2014 Olympics Putin signed a law. A law allowing Police officers to arrest tourist and foreign nationals they suspect of being homosexual or of allying with pro-gay beliefs. They are allowed to detain any Olympic athlete, trainer, official, reporter, family member, team member, or fan for up to two weeks for simply suspecting they are gay.

Secondly, it is now illegal to tell anyone underage that it is okay to be gay. So basically if as an adult you post and picture of yourself and your partner on any social networking site and it is deemed accessible to anyone underage you are now subject to fines and even arrest. Parents telling their children that being gay is okay is punishable by jail time. Because "homosexual propaganda" is now classified as pornography.

This all reminds me of Adolf Hitler's famous prosecution of a group of people based on their sharing of a culture, or as some would like to call it Genocide. Please sign this petition to keep Russia from prosecuting a group of people based on their sexual orientation. Keep our Olympians out of Russian prisons.
