What happened to finishing the A Street connection and making it an arterial alternate to the highway? That was supposed to be completed years ago. This vehicle bridge did not get vetted and only will make Mtn View more difficult to cross. It's a safety issue from every perspective.

While causing harm to the residents on the quiet end of 3rd St., it only benefits the developer of the new housing, the entrance to which just happens (?) to be directly opposite the newly opened end of 3rd St.

I think the residents should have had a vote in making this decision. Not just the council and the mayor. This is going to affect all of us living on third street. We need to have a say in this. It is also going to raise our property taxes isn't it. STOP, LET'S TALK.

More than a million tax dollars spent on a vehicle bridge that will degrade a neighborhood, create traffic hazards for children, necessitate the removal of some trees in order to widen the street. All for what? So that the new development can guarantee a straight shot to Pullman through our parks, schools and old neighborhoods?

I do not see the need for this. I am also concerned about the costs involved. Money could be better spent.

Any planing that does not sufficiently take into consideration that East 3rd street is a residential street in the heart of town that is extending the center of town to a community center (1912 Center) and a park (East City Park) is no planning at all. Currently East 3rd street is a very busy street already, more than most people realize. Adding the bridge will not lower traffic, and thereby decrease safety for people visiting and living in the downtown area, which is vital to Moscow and its commercial viability.

Because 3rd Street is arguably a heart of Moscow, risking its future demands thoughtful considerations and input from all of us. Not a haphazard decision that may or may not benefit a few residents but harm many more.

The City hasn’t even being to address the congestive traffic in town. One of the worst is the intersection of 3rd & Washington. Already traffic is backing up on Washington, leaving cars in the intersection because traffic is backed up on 3rd between Main & Washington. This is because all three major east/west arteries converge at that intersection. The bridge is no solution. Already there are heavy dump trucks, semis, and cement trucks, already using 3rd St to go to Mountain View, as the city has no truck route like diverting truck traffic to highway 8. The 3rd St Motor Bridge will make truck use even worse.

City Council treats everyone who opposes this bridge as if they're the 'noisy minority.' We are NOT the minority, and I'll sign my name to it here. Our money is better spent!!
The third street bridge will make third street less safe for cyclists and pedestrians. It’s a waste of money.

Just because a bridge shows up on a map or budget doesn't mean it's a good idea. Moscow's most meaningful "connections" involve people, neighborhoods, and community events, not infrastructure to invite higher volumes of faster traffic.
