Is it true than developers on the east side of Mt. View are pushing this? Also, how can 3rd St. even handle auto traffic with the various now needed new bike and pedestrian lanes?

Along with all of the concerns mentioned in the petition, my greatest concern and disgust with this project is the lack of democracy, transparency and disregard of public sentiment. It is obvious to everyone, but the mayor of Moscow, and certain members of city council, that the majority of the public does not support this ludicrous project.

How about finish what we started with the A Street connection years ago? The City Council should listen to the people of the city, not developers.

Do not see the need for this when 6th street bridge is only 3 blocks away. This seems fiscally irresponsible in my opinion.

The majority of us have voted against this project several times. Listen to your constituents.

Just because this project has 'been in the works for many years' does not serve as a viable purpose, nor does it obligate the mayor and/ or council members to push this through.

Worth a public discussion, certainly.

Please reevaluate this decision. I use this route daily, living a block to the south, it is already a gauntlet to navigate by foot, bike, or car - before and after school. It is an educational corridor encompassing every public school in Moscow.

An example of "governing by trolling." It creates danger and solves nothing, but the right wing is pushing it through to troll communitarians.

Connecting Third Street to Mountain View seems like more of the same traffic problems that are experienced at 6th St and Mtn View just spread to another intersection. Increased traffic through high density housing and a school zone is an accident waiting to happen. Can the council step back and reassess the necessity not just the feasibility?

The increased traffic next to Lena Whitmore would pose an unacceptable danger to the community's children. This is an unnecessary and irresponsible use of funds.

I approve of all safety measures planned for Third Street, however, there is no demonstrated need to put through the road for car traffic at this time. This can be revisited should at some time in the future more of the county is incorporated into the city and there is more traffic to justify the road. Third Street does not connect with anything that continues it west-east; it only connects to Mountain View, which is a north-south arterial. In short, if put through, it would require a stoplight or sign. That doesn't help flow or speed it up.

The City has not convincingly shown how this bridge will solve traffic problems. And while the traffic calming measures proposed for Third Street will make it safer for bicyclists and pedestrians, it seems like a contradiction to increase traffic with the bridge but then try to slow it down with these measures. And an auto bridge will turn an neighborhood and community area of Moscow into a throughway.
