Because Lake Perris' rightful home is Moreno Valley geographically and theoretically speaking, it's time for MoVallians to stand up and demand that our city's landmark be reflected as our own. Due to the current misnaming of the Lake, Moreno Valley missed the opportunity to host the 2028 World Olympic Games; scheduled in Los Angeles after the Olympic Committee decided that Lake Perris was not what they were looking for. Now, Moreno Valley Lake will more accurately reflect the community that best identifies its location, which will best represent the lake to the general public and foreign committees who seek to use our city for world-wide events. Should this petition gain enough support, the World Olympic Committee will be requested to reconsider using the Lake under its new moniker before 2028. Moreno Valley has been one of the fastest growing cities in California's modern history and has become the 21st biggest city in the state, in under half a century of incorporation. Given Moreno Valley's higher prestige, bigger size, and popularity; renaming the Lake would provide Moreno Valley residents with greater economical benefits and overall increase in value of the city (including property). Please support the geographical accuracy of Moreno Valley Lake by signing this petition.

I have been hearing from so many of you who agree that our city deserves the recognition that comes with managing our own landmark. Staying quiet about this misnaming is no longer an option when our community is losing out on major global opportunities.

Seeing this momentum grow feels like we are finally correcting a long standing mistake about our own backyard. I am overwhelmed by the pride everyone is showing for our city and our true identity.

It’s meant to be called Lake Moreno Valley because it’s in our great city. Lake Moval is an alternate name that’s cool too.
I think London Johnson has a good point of the lake perris to Moreno valley lake .I think bye doing that change there will be a lot of of opportunities for Moreno valley residence
it makes no sense that it keeps the perris name when most of the area is now mv. bring the olympics here and put us on the map for real. mo val needs this win
This name change should provide an unexpected unnecessary expense. At least it gives you somthing to do. Incase your challenged on what you where hired for. People need jobs. Maybe this will be justifiable is the sight of the citizens of M.V. In my opinion you should consider more important issues inorder to keep your jobs.

Since I first moved to Moreno Valley, I always questioned why the lake was called Lake Perris. This would be amazing if they change the name to Lake Moreno Valley how it should be.
