WHEREAS, if the Provincial government does not financially support the City of Toronto throughout the transition into full-day kindergarten, many child care centres in Toronto are at risk of closure;
THEREFORE WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, petition the Premier of Ontario, the Minister of Education and the Minister of Children and Youth Services to support the City of Toronto's Children's Services transition strategies, to ensure the availability of a sustainable, high quality and affordable child care system for families.

I started this because childcare costs were weighing on my mind but I never imagined so many of you felt the same way. The stories you leave in the comments are the real driving force here and they deserve to be heard by the people in charge.

My childcare costs are higher than my mortgage. How are families supposed to make it work?
Way too expensive. The system is completely broken and we need help now.
About time someone did something. The waitlists are 2 years long!!!
please help us. i love my kids but i honestly dont know how we will afford rent if daycare goes up again.
Fix this. It is insane what we have to pay just so I can go to work.

ridiculous. the government needs to step up and fund these centers properly.
