Hello, we are SOC 100 students conducting a collective social action project regarding mass incarceration. Specifically, we are petitioning for more prison funds to go towards rehabilitation programs to help these people to more efficiently spend their time hopefully becoming more sociable and functional members of society. Rehabilitation works better than isolation. We are currently researching the specific budget allocations that keep these programs underfunded.

rehab over punishment any day of the week. keep up the good work.
makes no sense to spend all that money on just locking them up and expecting them to be different when they leave. waste of tax dollars.
seen too many people go into the system and come out worse than before. way worse. hope this actually does something.
PREACH. We need to stop treating people like they are trash and start helping them fix their lives. Everyone deserves a second chance.
My boyfriend is a corrections officer, and he outwardly told me that there is little effort put towards actually helping them get back out there, I stand with this petition!

My brother got out last year and they just dropped him off at a bus station with 40 bucks. He had no skills to get a job so he went right back in. This needs to change.
