the board just voted to keep the education budget as is. i am floored by the result and so grateful to everyone who stuck with this. we should definitely keep an eye on things moving forward but for now we won.
This petition is asking the Monroe Board of Finance to not reduce the Board of Education budget any further. Further reductions to the budget, in our opinion, will damage the core of the education system in our public schools.
We may not have all of the answers, but cutting money away from the schools year after year is not the solution. In fact, it might actually be the problem.
Enough with the cuts already. My kids are feeling it and the classrooms are getting way too crowded. Leave the school budget alone!
