Girls Scout of the United States of American has made a partnership with Barbie and doing so has gone against it’s own beliefs and ideals.

I want to change the Girl Scouts Barbie to fit the belief and teachings of Girl Scouts. It should portray them in a good light and for what they are, not what people want them to be. There should be a doll set that is a better representation of Girl Scouts and will not got against the teachings of their journey.

The momentum is building fast. It shows how many of us value the true mission of the Girl Scouts.

I agree with this GS. There are correct level uniforms for the American Girl dolls. Personally I feel that any doll representing Girl Scouts should be done with respect to all volunteers that choose to teach the values of Girl Scouting. Cadettes learn to be confident in who they are and to be proud of being ok with themselves and learning not to give into peer pressures. I think having a perfect Barbie with a perfect figure and perfect dress does not encourage the values being taught.

Girl Scouts has been attaching themselves to many products. Most of the products are candy, chocolate milk, coffee creamer, ice cream, and now Barbie. I'm quite sure that GSUSA could put its brand on other items besides sugary foods and a doll. Why not promote something that can be used outdoors or for outdoor play? A product that better represents what Girl Scouts is about.

As a Troop co-leader, I understand that Barbie is seen as a symbol to young girls for what they can achieve, as she has been an astronaut, a doctor, etc. HOWEVER. Barbie is not realistic. Her outfit in NO WAY represents a Girl Scout out fit. If you're going to do a true representation of a GS then no pink, no cowboy boots, no capri pants it's RIDICULOUS and an insult. A lot of the girls in my troop are insulted and they do not agree with this partnership at all.

I'm so glad this petition didn't go through. This was such a fun badge to earn. My daughter and her friends loevd exploring different careers. ... they didn't talk abbot Barbie. That said... Barbie was being an astronaut, doctor, vet, computer programmer, etc... and all while you were complaining.

I get that it is just a toy, however, I think it needs to be in correct uniform and with actual badges that Barbie could earn with the girls not just do the Barbie patch.

this doll really should be in the correct uniform. If she is a Girl Scout doll, then put her in a Girl Scout Uniform plain and simple.
