We the undersigned petition the Putnam County, NY Sherriffs department and the New Fairfield, CT police department to step up enforcement of the speed limits on Milltown Road, located in the towns of Southeast, NY and New Fairfield, CT.
Milltown Road has become a hazard due to high speed driving by both motorcycle and car traffic. In addition to high speeds, drivers drive in a hazardous and reckless manner which is a threat to the safety of those who drive on the road and those who live on or near it. We ask that our enforcement officials look into the problem and set up roadside checks for compliance with applicable local laws.

The Putnam County Sheriffs and New Fairfield Police are still ignoring our emails while the reckless driving on Milltown Road continues every single day. I am tired of waiting for them to acknowledge the danger they are paid to stop. We are going to keep tracking every incident until they realize we are not going away.

My son was one of many Brewster teens/young adults involved in a MVA on Milltown. There are SEVERAL areas on Milltown that drivers are careless and drive at an unsafe speed. I know that law enforcement Officials have been monitoring the road which is great, however short details sent out will not necessarily catch the true issues of these careless drivers. Perhaps a stronger police presence when possible? It is a known fact that we have had several fatalities and horrific crashes on this road.
My Grandson was one of 4 Brewster kids involved in accident on March 17,2014 On Milltown Rd. I ask that you please have police detail/presence known on this very dangerous road. Help to potentially save more catastrophic situations before they happen.

They also speed on Burdick Rd. About 30 miles an hour on a DIRT road!!!

I'm a new resident of Milltown Rd, I was grateful to see a Sherrif's car the other morning. The speeding cars run from morning and through the night. It's difficult to come out of my driveway. The noise factor is another issue too.
