Plymouth High School is not allowing their graduates who are joining the military after graduation to wear their "military," red, white, and blue cords. Their reasoning is because it is not a school funded program; however they allow other non school funded programs to wear their cords. As a military vet who enlisted right after high school, let these kids wear those ropes with pride. They are about to make some of the biggest sacrifices for their country and it's an honor to serve.
Allow all of them or none of them. These kids are putting their lives on the line to give people the ability to make such bad decisions. We should show our support not penalize them!!!!
I would like you to reconsider you decision on not letting the grads wear their military cords. If you dont reconsider, then in all fairness you can not alow 4 h cords or any other non school funded cords to be Worn either. As a plymouth high alum your decision disapoints me.
I am an alumna of the class of 2010 and it disgusts me that the school I graduated from is not allowing students who joined the military to wear their cords because it is not a school funded activity but other activities (4H) are allowed to wear their cords. This is shameful.
I am alumni and I am totally against this decision. They should proudly wear their colors at graduation. When I attended this school I took my ASVAB testing during school hours and they were proud to let me.
The decision to not allow our future soldiers the right to wear their cords proudly is utterly disgusting! I am very disappointed in the Plymouth High School leaders and was ashamed to have become part of your community, but then realized this was not a community decision. It was made by a select few who should think about what matters to the community, to our country. They are a disgrace.
These young men & women will be putting their lives on the line to defend this nation. The LEAST they can do is acknowledge the sacrifice being made by the students AND the families!!!
