I just looked at the count and we are almost at one hundred names which feels like such a huge deal for someone who wrote songs that changed my entire life. If you can get this link to just one or two more people who actually get why Nez is a genius then maybe we can push it over that line by tonight since it is honestly wild it took this long anyway.

It is over due for Michael Nesmith to be put in the songwriters Hall of Fame...come on...Michael started the music video's we now watch...We've already lost Davy Jones..what are you waiting for...Michael to die? Mike Nesmith's songwriting skills and works are by far some of my favorites ever. The songs he wrote as 1/4 of The Monkees was just the tip of the iceberg. If anyone deserves to go into the songwriting HOF it's Nez for sure!
It's hard to imagine that Michael Nesmith isn't already a member; especially when you consider his catalogue of music from the Monkees to First National Band to his solo work. He belongs without a doubt.
Along the way, he also helped create the genres of short form and long form music videos (winning the first Grammy for a music video with "Elephanr Parts"), and helped to create MTV (back when they used to play music). What an amazing talent!
Michael's songwriting has spanned generations and touched many lives. He weaves words and images flawlessly, and his melodies can be hauntingly beautiful. He touches on subjects of the human heart, and has moved me to tears. These are the marks of a master songsmith.
I could not agree more. He is a master of the written word, whether he's writing a song or a book or a paragraph. His music transcends age and genre. Very deserving of this honor.
A unique visionary in more than just songwriting. Mike Nesmith is a creative genius. And underrated. Let's rate him where he belongs.

Michael Nesmith deserves this honor. Many musicians have been influenced by his songwriting including me.
