My vote is NO. There is no way we have the the things needed to support that amount of growth.

As a resident of Mexico Beach and I am definitely opposed to the increase in population or density Saint Joe is requesting.

Why build here? Why now? Besides, Windmark is a disgusting failure, so why do it again... To bamboozle REIT investors? Maybe they should be advised. This area will never be the same as it was, so go ahrad and turn it into high density garbage town. I will just sell, and move on if the essence of this place changes.
The area is beautiful, but this city and it's investocrat property flippers disgust me.

This spells disaster for MB if approved as is. I'm not inclined to support it even with more information. As mentioned above I have seen with my own eyes the failure of these types of developments from St Joe Co. This is not in Mexico Beach's best interests.

You have to understand that the draw that Mexico Beach had, what keep people coming back year after year, what pushed people to make reservations a year in advance to find hotel space in a rapidly growing tourist destination was the flavor of Mexico Beach. It’s quaint, go-back-in-time atmosphere, it’s lack of the “Spring Break” mentality and all the trouble that brings, and it’s safe, family feeling. If you over develop Mexico Beach you will simply have another Destin or Panama City Beach. These developments, like Destin & PCB, are a dime a dozen. You can find the same all around the coast of Florida as well as up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Mexico Beach was unique. A gem that stood out from all the rest of the over developed sea coasts. And, it was what people now are looking for. Most are not looking for the high dollar, high end, over developed resorts. No, they are looking for the sleepy little seacoast towns where they can relax and just enjoy the beach. In the long run you would do much better, from an investment perspective, to keep Mexico Beach as it was and use that atmosphere as a marketing strategy. You’d make a lot more money that way. Who needs another eye sore condo city like PCB or another crunched together snooty hamlet that’s in and out of court over beach right of way, like Destin. Give us something better. Give us Mexico Beach back. Just the way it was!

Doing the right thing may not be the easiest or quickest resolution, but things work out a lot better in the long run. As with anything, there is a compromise in this and many other issues The City of Mexico Beach is facing.

This idea would total ruin the whole reason why we live here and people come here. If we wanted to live in a fast pace cluster we would live in the city or on PCB. It’s already bad enough people don’t respect our beach and the roadways as it is and this is gonna make it so much worse.

I currently do not reside in MXBCH but close by. When I first came to this area 30 yrs ago we lived in MXBCH and stayed for 25 yrs. I would not that ANY part of it be changed! Plz do not allow St Joe Co. to come in and make their mess. Its all $$ to them...not quality of life which I believe MXBCH offers. We do not need them pre Michael nor do we need them post Michael!
