The University of Alabama does not currently provide mental health counseling services to distance learning students. Phone counseling services would be a way to provide this service to students who live too far away to take advantage of on-campus counseling.

The MSW program committee is currently exploring the need for this kind of service, both for the School of Social Work, but ultimately, for all University of Alabama distance students.

Please consider adding your name to this petition if you support efforts to provide mental health counseling to distance learning students.

This petition will be presented to the Student Counseling Center and the College of Continuing Studies to demonstrate student support for development of these services.
