Membership fee for the College of ECE

With the cost of living increasing in every single sector, this fee increase is inappropriate and devastating. Stop! ECEs can barely afford to live! Check out the regulating body in British Columbia... they renew every 5 years, with no cost. Support your members!

We have chosen a career that allows us to help and nurture children and families. Please let us do that for our own. We have mouths to feed, mortgages to pay and living expenses on very low wages. Asking for an increase in fees when just paying for gas to get to work is difficult some weeks is wrong. To add to this, taking up our time for CPL when the proof of what we do is shown and clearly evident in our everyday teaching is not okay. We as RECEs should not have to accept such demands.

We make very little pay. The fee is more or just as much as what the teacher ‘s pay and they make triple the amount we do!!

I don’t feel the raise in fees is justified.

Its disgusting, that endless economy, you feel the need to raise our membership price. Knowing that our careers are very low paying, you continue to raise prices. You should have stuck with the $150 Membership fee that you started off with. People are having hard time paying for bills, groceries, etc, and you thought it's was a good idea to raise the price. Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting work management that you have as a college of ece. I hope you reconsider raising the price. You're excuse that we're still the lowest pain membership is rubbish. Because nurses and teachers all make a hell of a lot more money than we do. When are you going to show us support and not raise the membership price. On top of it too, we've so much going on in our lives and you make us do so much work with our cpl, it's disgusting. Some of us don't even have time to breathe, because we're working other jobs just to pay for things.Consider that before you jack up the price for October.

We are not paid enough for our fee to be this high, you already have enough trouble retaining ECE this makes it worse. Get rid of your building most of your duties require you for online, find a different way to cut costs like most of us would do instead of raising our rates. Teachers only pay 200 for a fee have no CPL and get paid twice the amount.

This fee is outrageous! The college does nothing for us except increase their fees and create more work for us to do. Let’s start by moving out of their overpriced Toronto office and find a place that’s 1/3 the rent.

We are struggling, stop pushing people out of this field.

Raising the membership fees for RECE’s is outrageous. I would like to know what the college of ECE’s are doing for me as a paying member! Get rid of the ridiculous CPL and start paying US more!

Other than being able to put an R in front of ECE, honestly, what benefit is this membership to the holder?

Absolutely ridiculous. You know how much we make and how much we struggle. You require us to do more work while you also know we have next to no time to do our daily duties. So unfair. So discouraging.

Lower the coat or get rid of it

Don’t raise membership fees when we don’t even see the money to begin with. Stop the CPL for good!!!!

Too much to pay fee can’t afford.

We already make just above the poverty level while working just as hard (if not harder) than teachers and yet we're expected to pay year after year....only in Ontario!

This fee increase is absolutely ludicrous.

We don't make enough money, no benefits or sick days . It's so expensive to have this membership n I feel they don't do anything for us. Everything going up n we still don't make enough.

Make our wages better , no matter what workplace setting you’re working in as an ECE AND THEN think twice before increasing the yearly fee.

Fees should reflect the salary of their members. I know teachers are making 3 times more than I do, I’m working just as hard as them and making peanuts. And yet we are being asked to pay higher fees then them. Ridiculous!
