The fee increase is not sensitive to the current needs and conditions of the members.

Unreasonable ... especially when people have trouble paying their bills, rent and eating!

This fee increase will scare away more graduates and employees, there will less people to hire and out a strain on the kids, families and industry staff.

if we want to entice people to become ECEs, we need to lower our fees. Ontario college of trades charges $67 so why are we do high!!! we can't even compare it to RMTs or OCTs. The pay difference and the union make a huge difference

Disgusting to think more fees coming off of the lowest paying professionals that work with children. Embarrassed

Raising the amount for ECEs to be "registered" is disgraceful as it doesn't reflect what we are paid in the field.

A mom of 3 and ece for over 10 years. Barely make it by with our wages and now an increase in fees for no benefit to members ever is ridiculous. Many more will be leaving the field I’m sure.

This is not okay! ECE’s should receive a pay increase to compensate for this increase.

I'm not even working in the field because the wage is low and I'm expected to pay a higher amount when times are still tough and the price of everything is high.

How can these fees be justified?!? Look at the average wage of an ECE! Look at the wages of ECE's in rural parts of Ontario, they make minimum wage in a lot of cases.

Many are still recovering from the financial affects of covid. While the CWELCC was introduced, and promised small wage floor raises, many are still making well below what they should be. A large amount of RECE's hold second jobs just to make ends meet and this is a tasteless time to increase fees with inflation and the economy. Especially by $15! RECE's are leaving the field at alarming rates and both this yearly fee aling with the CPL are part of that reason. If regulating this profession is in the interest of the public, it shouldn't be paid for by those in the field barely making ends meet. With approx 58,800 members paying $175/yr that clears $10 M for the yr. The CECE needs to reconsider their rent costs, moving to a more affordable space and/or working remotely. They also overspend on personell and furnishings and are severelybehind in investigations/court proceedings while also lack appropriate responsetimes for these fees. They should be audited!
This is outrageous.
