There needs to be another solution then to have the person who paid for schooling to keep paying higher and higher fees to maintain a Registered status. ECE's need incentive to register and STAY at their jobs. This is going to give incentive to find another career and we need child care spaces to be able to actually be available. Right now, with low RECE's, the spaces are there, they just cannot be filled as staffing is short! It's not about spaces, it's about retaining educated and knowledgeable staff. Look at other provinces and their fees compared to Ontario.

Stop raining fees for a service that isn't valuable to ECEs and the sector as a whole. More people are going to leave this profession and the college of ECE doesn't care. This is about greed not making the profession more reputable.

As a student enrolled in an ECE diploma program I am disappointed to find out that wages haven’t increased and now registration has increased, make it make sense!
This has me questioning my career choices after I’m done my program.
Do better!

I will also add that you are gaslighting us when you say that it's the lowest professional fee in the province in comparison to say teachers, nurses, etc. who earn a significant amount more than ECEs. If the average wage is calculated into a percentage based around their fees, the ECE wage is actually very punishing in comparison to other professions and the percentages of salary.

We love the job that we do and want to keep doing this but as life is getting more expensive and our fees remain so high we are having to make hard choices on where we spend our money. Please lower our fees

This is not ok. We already pay too much. There are Eces that get paid very little for Al that they do. I am disgusted that they think this is ok to do to us.

We, the undersigned members of CECE, request the reconsideration of the annual membership fee increase from $160/year to $175/year, effective October 1, 2024.
Background: The College has announced an increase in the annual membership fee starting October 1, 2024. The fee will rise from $160/year to $175/year, impacting all members whose renewals are due in or after October.
Our Concerns:
- The fee increase may place an undue financial burden on members, many of whom are already managing tight budgets.
- The increase, although the first since 2018, does not align with the financial situations of many members who face economic challenges.
- We believe there may be alternative solutions to manage the College's operational costs without passing the burden onto the members.
Call to Action- We respectfully request the College administration to:
1. Reconsider the proposed fee increase and explore alternative cost-saving measures.
2. Provide a detailed financial report justifying the need for the increase.
3. Engage with the membership to find a mutually acceptable solution that addresses both the College's needs and the members' financial constraints.
By signing this petition, we express our collective concern and urge the College to take immediate action to address our requests.

Please reverse the fee increase for ECEs! Lowest wage earners cannot afford this increase in their fees. Please let them try to get ahead!
I think $160 was plenty to cover the cost.
