The role of our First Lady is close to our hearts as Americans. Each First Lady carefully selects a cause or a platform that is important to her personally and relevant to our country. She makes this a central piece of her work during her time in the White House.

We are writing today to ask you to please consider Choosing the Children and making Pediatric Cancer your Platform as First Lady.

We have all seen the St. Jude commercials late at night that break our hearts and make us turn the channel, because the reality of children sick and dying from cancer is too painful to witness. But it's a reality for children and families across the nation. We can NO LONGER look away!

Pediatric Cancer Awareness is among the least understood. This must change.

Pediatric Cancer is grossly underfunded receiving only 4% of all the funds raised for research. The reprehensible disparity in funding means fewer drugs to treat our children. Fewer trials, fewer locations to receive treatment, and the result is higher mortality. Our children are dying because they are not receiving the money for research, for treatment, and for cures. This reality should infuriate EVERY American regardless of your party affiliation! This is a cause we can all get behind!

The burden on families cannot be overstated. Financially, emotionally fighting for the life of your child is every parent's worst nightmare.

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness. Most people do not even know. Most people do not know that GOLD is the color used to represent Pediatric Cancer.

Strangely Pink October follows September Gold and the fundraising and the National Awareness are OVERWHELMING. Every athletic event supports it, there are runs, walks, benefits in every community. But for the Children? Nothing. No National Awareness. No Outrage. No Painting the Whole City Gold.

We DESPERATELY need a NATIONAL ADVOCATE for the Children. We need someone who can raise awareness, solicit broad, bipartisan support and bring these children the funding, the research, the treatments and the CURES that can save their lives. Please Mrs. Trump take up our cause?
