The budget cuts to Sure Start Funding in Maidstone has meant that the Meadows Children's Centre & Nursery has to increase it fees in September, can no longer offer free hot lunches and will lose its community chef. The community chef runs healthy cooking sessions for everybody in Parkwood, not only at the Meadows, but also at Fusions Community Cafe. We demand that Kent County Council rethink their cuts, increase the budget and reinstate the funding that allows Community Chef to continue with his work in many locations in the community providing a valuable service for all.
