On Sept. 6, 2016 the mayor of Gordon Ga. decided no raises and no Christmas bonus for the employees, her words were they don"t work hard enough. On Sept. 19, 2016 it was finial, no money was put in the budget to give raises are a Christmas bonus for the City of Gordon Ga. Employees. But she wanted $ 6000.00 for new furniture and $10 thousand for a basket ball goal.. Yes you heard me right. So I am asking everyone to sign this petition and help the citizens of Gordon Ga. stand up for the city Employees. All the employees work hard, they are young and have families. As we all know the cost of living has went up. The employees are the one that keeps this city going.. This photo shows a employee submerged in nasty muddy water fixing a water break.

They are on call 24/7! People knock on my door at 4 a.m. waking half the house because someone noticed low water pressure. Some days they get home long enough to take a shower to go get in over their heads to fix a leak. They deserve raises and a thanks for a year of good work.

Now I must say if anyone deserves a raise and Christmas bonus it would be that young man there in the picture. Not many people would be willing to do this kind of work and be treated this way by mayor and council. Great job young man, you are appreciated by the citizens of Gordon.

If the city employees can't have raises or Christmas bonus why should the Mayor be able to get new furniture? And a $10,000.00 basketball goal, what is it made of GOLD OR PLATINUM??

Yes they do work hard. Not only 8 to 5 Monday - Friday but in the middle of the night weekends, as soon as they step in the door to shower the phone rings, they are back at work fixing leaks so Gordon runs smoothly and we all have water. Please let these men and women know we care about them by signing this petition.

This will be 2 years in a 3 year period that the workers have not received a raise, while money has been spent for lawyers to battle in court over nonsense. Time to stop the wasting of citizens money.

They work hard and deserve a raise. But the mayor thinks furniture is more important. She is very self centered and selfish.
