October, 2012 Unto Erik Langhans, SCA Vice President of Operations, and the SCA Board of Directors, We, the undersigned populace of the Kingdom of Atenveldt submit this petition to the SCA Board of Directors as follows: • Whereas the current Crown, Heirs, and Kingdom Seneschal of Atenveldt do not support additional sanctions upon Matthew Richardson (Duke Mathghamhain MacAlpine) and Katie Richardson (Duchess Katerina O’Callaghan) once their prohibition from fighting in Crown List and holding office expires in January 2013. • Whereas past Crowns and Kingdom Seneschals of Atenveldt have conducted multiple investigations and found no grounds to conduct a Court of Chivalry, request absolute banishment, or impose any sanctions upon Matthew Richardson (Duke Mathghamhain MacAlpine) and Katie Richardson (Duchess Katerina O’Callaghan). • Whereas the Board of Directors made uninformed decisions in their September 26, 2012 conference call because SCA R&D investigators did not:  Contact or interview any of the more than 50 witnesses on the witness list the Society Seneschal asked Matthew Richardson (Duke Mathghamhain MacAlpine) and Katie Richardson (Duchess Katerina O’Callaghan) to provide in February 2012.  Properly ascertain the views of the former and current Crowns, Peers, Kingdom Officers, Landed Nobility and membership in the Kingdom of Atenveldt regarding the current, past and ongoing contribution to the SCA by Matthew Richardson (Duke Mathghamhain MacAlpine) and Katie Richardson (Duchess Katerina O’Callaghan). • Whereas we believe SCA membership and participation of Matthew Richardson (Duke Mathghamhain MacAlpine) and Katie Richardson (Duchess Katerina O’Callaghan) has substantial ongoing benefit to the Society and our organization in the Kingdom of Atenveldt, and, further to that, this sanctioning has caused near irreparable turmoil in our Kingdom that is being felt at all levels. We ask that the SCA Board of Directors take the following actions related to above the R&D Investigation: 1. Reopen and properly complete the R&D Investigation of Matthew and Katie Richardson, 2. Reverse sanctions imposed on Matthew and Katie Richardson during the September 26, 2012 BOD conference call, and 3. Consider allowing Matthew and Katie Richardson to continue to participate as SCA members, SCA officers and combatants in Crown Lists in the Kingdom of Atenveldt.
