Marvin School District parents for teachers’ fair pay raise they were promised
Hi Parents -
As you may have heard, our teachers were promised a long overdue $2,000 raise this year but the county cut it to $1,000. Our teachers are already some of the lowest paid educators in the entire country as North Carolina now ranks 48th for teacher pay - with the average teacher salary in our district at $49,913 per year. Let’s show our wonderful teachers that we care and want them to get the extra pay they earned. Please sign our petition and pass it on.

Our teachers deserve to be compensated for their hard work. They are already very much underpaid and this is why many teachers, including myself, have left the profession. The teachers have earned it.
Pay our teachers who are the people actually doing the work! Take the money from the overpaid schoolboard if needed.
Let give our teachers what they were promised and continue promoting great education in Marvin!
Our teachers are amazing and worked so hard to become the best school district. They deserve far more than $2k for the work that they do.
As a former teacher of almost 12 years, I was forced to leave the profession because the salary would cover the cost of daycare and nothing else. The work is far too demanding and countless hours that teachers work after the bell schedule is never accounted for. Teachers need higher pay. You get what you pay for so if you want good quality teachers, show them a respectable salary, or in this case a higher supplement

Its honestly shameful that the county is walking back on this. My kids teachers are the reason they enjoy going to school and they deserve every penny they were told they would get.
