The purpose of this petition is to address the procurement and installation of individual mailboxes for Marlboro Ridge single family homes. Marlboro Ridge is a Prince George’s county luxury living community with clubhouse, pools, fitness, trails, and Equestrian Center located in Upper Marlboro, MD. The community consists of XX single family homes consisting of the Glen, Hunt, and prestigious Estate collections. The issue this petition addresses is the community aesthetics, uniformity, and concerns with not having individual mailboxes for all single family home sections. There are currently XXX single family homes with cluster box mail delivery as opposed to individual mailbox units for the homes. The Marlboro Ridge homeowners were under the assumption during the buying process individual mailboxes would be standard as part of the custom luxury home building process. This was not the case as the United States Postal Service (USPS) made it a requirement on any home built after 2013 to have cluster box mail deliver. With the emergence of technology and ecommerce cluster box mail delivery for the single-family is no longer efficient or the delivery method preference of the USPS. The USPS prefers individual mailbox delivery and upon this transition Marlboro Ridge is requesting Toll Brothers Inc. to complete the installation of individual mailboxes for all single-family homes. All of the homeowners of single family homes were under the assumption we would have individual mailboxes not cluster boxes. This assumption was based on the model home and all the single family homes as you enter the community and no one was notified of cluster boxes until after the signing of contracts as we understood based on all the homes we would have individual mailboxes as was never made aware during the buying process. When signing please in the comments add your lot number and please for those who are married please have your spouse to sign also.

Looking forward to having my mailbox outside my home since I am disabled and in a wheel chair.
It is unconscionable that a majority of those in our section of the neighborhood have mailboxes conviniently installed in from of their homes and the rest of us (~ 15%) of us do not. Some of us plan to retire in our homes and having to walk or drive to the mailbox creates an unnecessary burden and great inconvenience to us.
Im tired of my neighbors bringing my mail to my house, and vice versa. I even have issues where I don’t receive important letters. I want my own Mailbox. I live in a house not an apartment. I should have my own mailbox. Thanks!
I live in the new section on Bridle Ridge Road. When my husband and I bought our home, Toll Brothers never disclosed that our home would not receive the mailbox. In fact, Toll Brothers disclose this information after we gave them our full deposit.
I’m in a family home located the Estate Section of Marlboro Ridge community. Acknowledging that 85% of the homes in this section have individual mailboxes it is inequitable for the remaining 15% not to mirror the homes in this section. In addition with forward thinking in mind, I plan to retire in my family home and not receiving my mail on site will be a huge inconvenience.
I completely agree- all of the single family home should have mailboxes. It’s a representation of the whole community. Shouldn’t cheap out.

I live in MR and have an individual mailbox, which I find to be eminently convenient. In a luxury neighborhood such as this, that should be universal for all houses.
