Seems unethical to trick customers and then not refund immediately after cancellation ..

Ok with taking our money, but then cancel orders and say it could be 5 working days till we get that money back!!

As per M&S terms and conditions “The duration of our contract with you will start from when you receive the order despatch email and last until the last day of your right to return the products.”
We received an email indicating the item is ready for dispatch and assumed this is “the despatch email”. We also booked a delivery date. We had given away our sofa to a needy person after successfully placing an order and are now left significantly out of pocket. The subsequent order cancellation has caused significant inconvenience and stress. I hope M&S will see sense and honour the contract before suffering significant reputational damage.

Think of the interest they will earn with all OUR money in THEIR banks. I have promised current sofa to a buyer on gumtree also so run the risk of upsetting a stranger who knows where I live :-(

M&S should at least be a littler better in their customer service than to send a cold computer generated email.
