Mao Hengfeng wurde am 22. Februar 2011 aus medizinischen Gründen aus der "Umerziehung durch Arbeit" entlassen. Sie leidet an hohem Blutdruck und an schweren Verletzungen, die ihr durch Folter im Gefängnis zugefügt wurden.
Die Freude währte kurz: Am 24. Februar wurde sie ins Gefängnis zurückgeschickt. Begründung: sie hätte gegen die Auflagen ihrer Entlassung verstoßen. Ihr wurde nicht einmal erlaubt, ihre Tasche zu packen.
Mao Hengfeng droht Folter.
Fordern Sie ihre unverzügliche und bedingungslose Freilassung und ein Ende der Folterungen und unterschreiben Sie diesen Appell.

I urge to release her immediately and unconditionally. Please ensure that she is allowed access to legal representation of her choice, her family and independent medical assessment.
I urge to guarantee that she is not tortured or otherwise ill-treated while she remains in custody. I call on you to iInitiate a full, independent and impartial investigation into allegations that Mao Hengfeng has been tortured or otherwise ill-treated and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice in accordance with international standards.
