We, the undersigned, being residents of the Village of South Jacksonville, Illinois, agree with this petition and its call for Tyson Manker, Mayor/Village President of South Jacksonville, Illinois, to resign within thirty (30) days of being presented with this petition.

Specifically, we feel that Tyson Manker should resign from his position because:

1. He has fostered an environment of hostility and distrust since becoming Mayor/Village President;

2. He has brought undue and unwanted attention to the Village for his actions since becoming Mayor/Village President, needlessly causing embarrassment for its residents, his constituents;

3. He may have committed Official Misconduct, a Class 4 Felony, in his dismissal of South Jacksonville Police Chief Eric Hansell, for the reasons given in the dismissal;

4. He is alleged to have misused Village funds on a trip to Washington, D.C., after which he made a claim of having paid for the trip entirely through his own funds, and with evidence having been produced showing a $160 hotel room charged to a Village credit card;

5. He has engaged in the practice of blocking Village residents from his social media account(s) used for government purpose, contradictory to a recent court ruling stating that such a practice is an illegal impedance of taxpayer 1st Amendment rights.

6. He may have committed an ethics violation by using his government official Facebook page to promote his personal financial interests, to wit, the promotion of a music side project.

For these reasons, as well as other which may not have yet been made public, we feel that it is in the best interests of the Village of South Jacksonville, Illinois that Mayor/Village President Tyson Manker resign from his position and allow one of the existing Board of Trustee members to assume that position, in accordance with Village Ordinances.
