This iconic building has to be saved! We will have no heritage left if these beautiful buildings keep disappearing. This building ment a lot to my grandparents and many more.

We have so much rich history in britain which is represented by historic buildings and beautiful architecture that have been left behind by bygone eras. This allows us to see the cultural changes that have occurred throughout our history. But we have already lost so much of our heritage and cultural identity and this makes it so much more vital to conserve what we can.

I have been puzzled for years as to why this stunning architectural gem has been apparently neglected and forgotten about. Given Manchester’s ever increasing international profile and the fact that its architectural richness plays such an important role in the city’s identity, I had assumed that somebody somewhere simply must have a plan and some money set aside ready to restore and utilise this (should be) British treasure. I was rather disgusted to learn of the hotel chain’s wilful neglect, stupidity and contempt for the city, its heritage and its many domestic and international visitors. They should be ashamed – Please act or release the building so somebody else can.
