Beautiful building, should not be a hotel, Britannia already have two other hotels round the corner, why do they need 3!?

The Britannia Hotel approach remains a disgrace to Manchester, and it pains me to see such inactivity, which is prejudicing the wider regeneration of this part of the city, there is clearly no intention by the owners to bring this forward such an important asset, it has taken 27 years for it to be decided options are unviable, it is a tasteless excuse!

Given the poor quality of the hotels Britannia own in Manchester (have you seen the reviews for Sachas!) - these guys should never be allowed to develop this site. Compulsory purchase!

A stunning piece of Manchester being allowed by lazy, wimpy, indecisive fat-cat bureaucrats, to be destined for demolition and lost to generations of future mancunians and a los to our country. Im ashamed of the idiots that have allowed this and take offence if the call themselves Mancunians or even british!!!

Important structures such as this cannot be allowed to decay because of narrow-minded corporate interests.

This is a disgrace. It's gone on more than long enough. Why are the council happy that one of Manchester's most iconic buildings is left to rot? This is the first impression many people get of Manchester as they leave Piccadilly. It could be such a statement wow feature, currently it's an embarrassment.

I agree. It is disgraceful. Boycott the Brittania Hotel Group. As a proud Mancunian, on my travels, I do.

This building belongs to the residents of Manchester and for the benefit of those coming to Manchester who should be able to see it in all its glory. Shame on those who have run it down and neglected it for such an unacceptable amount of time. Manchester people who care are watching with interest and will not let greed overcome.
